Words Speak Louder Than Silence

Trying to influence what your opponent thinks you are going to do in game to win by using direct communication channels. May include:

  • Saying of using a tactic when in reality not implementing it
  • Saying of using a tactic to make the opposition think that using it is less likely
  • Expressing oppinions about tactics
  • Adressing either players reputation and making predictions based on it
  • Framing the match in a context that favors strategic thinking you yourself feel will be superior on
  • Implying confidence or cowardice to seem agressive/passive
  • Implying sloppiness or observativeness to paint a image how effective diversionary tactics will be

It is good to rememeber that motivation behind every communication is pretty likely to be judged. This opens up the option/possibilty of using reverse psychology.

However actions speak way louder so there is only so much that can be accomplished by idle talk.
