Remnant System Gate

The Remnant System Gate orbits Haven, and is used to travel from the Remnant System to other star systems. Remnant is a major transit hub, but also has significant traffic to and from Earth. The Remnant System Gate was the first interstellar gate created. Like all interstellar gates, its size prohibited it from being constructed on a planet due to the impossibly strong structural support it would require. Despite the gate's age, its long-range teleportation capabilities and transport traffic capacity still rank near the top of all teleportation gates Humans have ever created.

System gates are typically built orbiting the planet with the capital city, largest population center, or wealthiest planet. The Remnant System Gate is unusual in that it orbits the distant planet Haven. This was because Haven was the center of teleportation research at the time of its construction, due to the diversity and quality of preservation of the alien ruins that enhanced such research.

Other planets in the Remnant System with significant population are all part of a teleporter network, each capable of sending high volumes of transports directly to the Remnant System Gate.

The Gate was destroyed by the Humans after the aliens invaded the Remnant system to prevent them from reaching Earth.
