When a game is given to players, new strategies and ways of approaching the game arise. Part of this is new fresh players and viewpoints being applied to this game and part is the honing and development of proved concepts.

Various terms and ways of talking about the game can be highly tuned towards specific goals. This can make adopting a theorycraft a efficient way of reaching those goals. However as the needs of competitors evolve there arises need to shoot for new goals and refine even more intricate ways of achieving the old ones. Thus the terms serve at least a double role: that of providing those with less mastery to acquire more and those on top of their game to communicate where to break new ground.
